Tweets from WSOP 2012

There's a storm a brewing in TwitterLand
Daniel Negreanu ‏@RealKidPokerGuy mucks his hand face up. It hits the muck and he has 24 board is all high cards. He then jokes and says "All In" floor rules he is all in
$300 pot guy has $5000 in front of him and was essentially robbed by a horrifyingly awful ruling that breaks my heart. Poor guy geez.
even worse is the guy who asked the floor to enforce the ruling. 1 of the most unethical things in a while.
Whatever floor man & supervisor made this ruling should be pub;ic info. I'd love to hear what drugs they were on when they made this ruling.
Floor people can make bad rulings, but Nevada Gaming cannot - player should have called NV Gaming immediately & froze the game
a casino can't actually make you give your chips to another player if they are not in the pot. He coulda racked and packed
Re: WSOP cash game ruling. One of the most embarrassingly bad decisions by a floor staff in the history of poker. This is atrociously awful.

2012 WSOP MAIN EVENT DAY 2

Leading the way on day 2 are Mark Demirdjian (499,990), Shaun Deeb (460,900), Gerard Lubas (449,500), Kevin Davis (394,000), Vanessa Selbst (350,400), Jason Somerville (332,700) and Daniel Negreanu (277,200). Other notables include: Pius Heinz, Peter Eastgate, Daniel Nagreanu and Dan Harrington.
Pro's remaing in the field, including;  Eugene Katchalov, Maria Ho, Gavin Smith,, Sammy Farha,  David Pham, , Eric Baldwin,Liv Boeree  and the enigmatic Faraz Jaka.

A couple  interesting hands

Daniel Negreanu opened to 2,700 from early position, three players called, and the flop fell . The blinds checked to Negreanu, who fired 5,200, and one player on his left called.
The turn was the , and Negreanu fired again. This time the bet was 8,600, and his opponent called.
The completed the board, and Negreanu emptied the chamber, tossing out 10,200. His opponent folded, and Negreanu mucked the winner.
Daniel Negreanu345,00015,000

Liv Boeree fired 7,500 with the board reading . Her opponent raised to 21,000, and Boeree moved in for an additional 43,900.
Boeree's opponent tanked for the better part of four minutes, asking Boeree a myriad of questions. She didn't respond to any of them, rather she sat silently, staring at one spot on the felt.
The player eventually found a fold, and Boeree quietly raked in the pot.

As Day 1c was the largest ever single day field in Main Event history, it's no surprise that a slew of easily recognizable faces will be returning to the felt today. Brandon Adams is sitting on a stack of 153,100 and will be poised to make a strong run in Day 2c. Some players that will be joining Adams at the tables include Bradley Booth, Jake Cody, Ari Engel, Josh Arieh, Chris Moorman, Viktor Blom, Brett Richey, Matt Affleck, Joseph Cheong, Paul Wasicka, Gus Hansen,

PCA missing Episode

Channel 4 issued a response to my inquiry as to where the final episode of the Pokerstars CPA 2012 went.
Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding POKERSTARS.CO.UK

We are sorry to hear of your annoyance that the final was not shown. Pokerstars themselves provided the schedule and requested a 9-week schedule break at this point, which we are adhering to. Further, we have spoken to them and they have advised the following :

"PokerStars PCA programming will return later in the year. We understand that this may be frustrating and will look to ensure that programming gaps do not happen where a table is still in play for future shows."

Nevertheless, please be assured your complaint has been logged and noted for the information of those responsible for our programming.

Main Event and The Poker Lullaby

Players Championship Braclet 2011
Event #61 here that means only one thing for poker lovers THE MAIN EVENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I was in the Rio for the first time last year and let me tell you the atmosphere is electrifying. I played a €1000 buy in, let the nerves get the better of me and didn't play my best game and was out in a couple of hours. I didn't enter the main event ; too rich for me, maybe one day though. I went down on day one of the main to event to soak up the atmosphere. What left me with a lasting impression wasn't the thousands of excited faces, nor the big name players mixing effortlessly  with the wannabes. It was the sound of poker chips rattling from hand to hand like the march of a million crickets.
I was also lucky enough to find myself close to the action for the Poker Players Championship. Brian Rast defeated Phil Hellmuth to deny him his ,then historic 12th bracelet..
Today thousands of players are gathering in one place and the predominant sound is that of  millions of poker chips clashing and dancing with each other on the green baize. The sound becomes hypnotic as players seem to sync with each other to produce 'The Poker Lullaby'. It's mesmerising, comforting and above all when you hear it at that level you know you're somewhere very special.
The main event is the biggest poker tournament on the planet. Thousands will sit down dreaming that it could be their bracelet, their picture that unfolds and is hung in the historic winners gallery alongside Scotty NguyenPhil Hellmuth, Jr. Peter Estgate, Joe Hasmen, Doyle Brunson.Stu Ungar, Johnny ChanJoe Hachem and Jonathan Duhamel.
Will an Irish player make the final table again this year and maybe go better than the heroic effort of Eoghan O’Dea. Could one of the older generation come through,  or will one of the young guns like Jason Tompkins fulfill his obvious promise.

Watch it here from 1pm on Sunday 8th July GMT Main Event on Veetle

Negreanu Super Read in 2-7 LOWBALL

Day two of event #60 2-7 Lowball Draw with some notable exits without cashing, including Jennifer Harman, Barry Greenstein and Phil Ivey.
During the game Daniel Negreanu made a hand read of biblical proportions. He read all five cards that Bob Bright held in his hand..That's right all FIVE cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Action folded around to Bob Bright's small blind and Bright announced a fold. Daniel Negreanu then proceeded to call out Bright's five card hand with Bright turning the cards up as Negreanu said them."King," said Negreanu. Bright flipped up a {K-}."Queen," continued Negreanu. Bright proceeded to turn over a {Q-}."Jack," said Negreanu. Once again Bright turned over the corresponding card, a {J-}.Okay, perhaps those three were easy. Two more to go."Nine," Negreanu said. Bright did not disappoint as he showed a {9-}.And the big finale: "Four."Bright tabled a {4-} and the table as well as the rail went nuts. Negreanu simply has the ability to call out cards in situations like this and this is yet another insane example of his amazing natural instincts."

Earlier a bit of banter broke out between Juanda  and Eslami. Juanda opened to 19,000.  Eslami three-bet to 56,000. Juanda tanked and called. Eslami patted, Juanda drew one. It was checked to Juanda who went deep before shoving all in for 113,500.
Then according to The WSOP site  Eslami went in the tank, Erik Seidel came over to see what was happening.
"I'm all in," Juanda told Seidel, and the two shared a laugh. "This is a big moment for me in the tournament."
Seidel left, and Eslami continued thinking.
"I don't have a good hand," he admitted.
"I broke a jack," Juanda told him.
"Jack what?" Eslami shot back.
"I can't tell you," Juanda said, grinning.
"Boy oh boy," Eslami sighed. "It doesn't matter what I have. You're so polarized."
Eslami eventually released, and Juanda showed four cards - .
"You probably didn't even look at your card," George Danzer said to Juanda. "You're a sicko.
Juanda is currently in third position with roughly half the stack of that of the chip leader Aston Griffin. My moneys on Juanda.

Sam Trickett

Sam Trickett,an ex plumber, who finished 2nd in he 'One Drop' event and picked up $10 million, was beaten up after leaving the Rio whlie with a friend. He wrote on  twitter
'Was having a great day until 6 guys did this to me.Seriously Wtf? Couldn't be more angry...   'Is this what happens when ur successful? They litterly beat the shit out of me'. He also said they spat in his friend, Natasha Sandhu's face.
One lame duck on Twitter said he 'deserved' what he got for 'disrespecting' Phil Hellmuth during the mega bucks game and called him an 'arrogant twat'. Which is kind of like saying all athletes deserve a good kicking for winding up their opponents. I've watched Sam play a lot and read countless interviews by him. He always comes across as nothing but professional and down to earth. Remember this is a guy who was a plumber, he had aspirations of becoming a professional footballer but a knee injury put paid to that, and started playing home games for a pittance like the rest of us.  He is now living the dream and 6 yobbos attack him for it. Anyway Phil Hellmuth is a big man, ( he's over 6ft) has been in the game for years and has completely disrespected almost everyone he has ever played with. That's his style and good luck to him for it.
Winning that kind of money brings all sorts with it. He probably needs to hire a couple of heavies in future to protect him, or have a chat with Sensi Channing who might show him a few moves.
