WSOP Irish in the money inc Jason Tompkins

In event #54, young Kildare man Jason Tompkins finished a very impressive 6th to take home over $85000. Jason also cashed in another event bringing his take home pay to over $90,000 so far.

Tompkins got a couple of mentions on the WSOP official site including this impressive five bet to put his tournament on the line

Nghi Van Tran raised it up to 60,000 to start out this most recent hand, and action folded over to Jason Tompkins in the big blind who three-bet to 145,000. Tran's response was to four-bet to 265,000, an action that cause Tompkins to move all in for around 935,000. Tran went into the tank, and came out of it thinking a fold was the right move and threw his cards away.

James Waldron, from Dublin,  is currently in 93 place of 2477 players in $1000 WSOP  No limit holdem event #59. James cashed in event 54 for over $16k.

 He has just over 22k in chips with the chip leader just shy of 80k.  Other notables in this field include Phil Ivey currently in 11th position with 50k, and  trailing below James is JC Tran in 256th with 3,400k. Lurking below JC are former November 9ers Dennis Phillips and Sam Holden. Professionals nursing the shorter stacks include one of my personal favourites, Neil Channing who finished second in an earlier event and Chris Moorman, Melanie Weisner.

Players who busted and didnt make day two include  Phil Hellmuth, Barry Shulman,  Erik Seidel,  Alexander Kravchenko, Fabrice Soulier and Barry Greenstein these all tried but didn't manage to do what James has; lasted into day two. Congratulations and good luck in day two James.

In event #56 Mixhael Graydon from Dublin finished 12th to take away $38000.
